The following are guidelines for 100+ Women Who Care - Elmhurst Area:
- Each member must commit to donate $100 per meeting ($400/year). A partnership membership is also available, allowing two people to share a membership (between the two there is one $100 payment each quarter, one name can be put in the basket for presentation and one vote can be cast.)
- Meetings are held four times a year on the first Mondays of February, May, August and November at 7:00 p.m. at Angelos’s Ristorante, 247 N. York Road in Elmhurst. An Active Member is a member in good standing who is up to date on quarterly payments. Members not in good standing may not vote or present at a subsequent meeting. A member can return to good standing by making their payment for the previous meeting's recipient.
- If a member is unable to attend, she can send her payment to the meeting with another member. Otherwise, she will be notified by e-mail following the meeting with instructions on how to write out check and where to send it. It is requested that payments be submitted within two weeks of the meeting so donations can be made to the recipient in a timely fashion.
- Charities for consideration should be 501(c) 3 organizations which serve the Elmhurst and the surrounding area. National or political nonprofits will not be considered.
- All presenters will be asked to 1) confirm that the organization is a 501(c) 3, 2) to identify their specific relationship to the organization, and 3) to confirm that if the organization is chosen the proceeds will be used for direct impact to Elmhurst and the surrounding area.
- At each meeting, all active members can put their name in the basket for the chance to be selected to present a charity. If two or three of the selected members are presenting the same charity, other names will be drawn until three distinct charities are chosen for the presentations.
- Each active member who is chosen to present a charity for consideration will be given five minutes to make a presentation. There will be five minutes for questions/answers after all presentations are given.
- The 501(c) 3 charity that is selected must agree NOT to use the names of individual contributors for future solicitations or give the information out to the public. If a charity does not adhere to this condition, it will be removed from any future consideration by the group.
- A representative from a selected charity will be invited to the next meeting to give an update on the use of the funds.
- Members of 100+ Women Who Care may not share member information outside of 100+ Women Who Care and may not use membership information for solicitation
- Charities can be reconsidered at any subsequent meeting.
