Elmhurst Mayor Scott Levin declares "Elmhurst 100+ Women Who Care" day
At the May Elmhurst City Council meeting, 100+ Women Who Care members were honored for their milestone goal of contributions to charitable organizations since their beginning in November 2013. Mayor Scott Levin read a proclamation "as a result of the generous giving of its members, 100+ Women Who Care Elmhurst area has donated more than $500,000 to 31 unique non-profits directly impacting Elmhurst and surrounding communities. Therefore I, Scott Levin proclaim May 16, 2022 100+ Women Who Care day in Elmhurst and call its significance to the city of Elmhurst."
Local 100+ Women Who Care Leader attends May 2014 Elmhurst Meeting
Thank you to Sally Wiarda, founder of 100+ Women Who Care - Wheaton, for joining us at our May meeting. Sally shared her enthusiasm and passion for 100+ WWC and offered her perspective on the good we are doing by starting a 100+ chapter in Elmhurst. Sally also offered tribute to Karen Dunnigan, founder of the first 100+ group in Michigan in 2006, who recently passed away.

Elmhurst was named as one of the Ten Best U.S Towns for for Families in the August 2014 issue of Family Circle magazine. Karen Stezowski, member of our Elmhurst 100+ Women Who Care group, was interviewed for the article. Thank you for your support Karen!
"There are countless opportunities to volunteer and find your passion," Karen says. "This community is a dream destination." Since it began in 2013, the local chapter of 100+ Women Who Care, a 142-member giving circle, has donated $40,000 to various charities, including the Elmhurst Walk-In Ministry for families in crisis and the Northern Illinois Food Bank's BackPack program for hungry kids.
